Harry Potter movie 7

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows opened this weekend in the US and it's going to break it's own record for opening weekend take at the box office. I hope to see this movie sometime in the next 2 weeks with some friends or my sister. I have been waiting all summer and fall for it to come out that I am sitting on pins and needles, wanting to go see it!! I have seen so many trailers and scenes that I feel like I HAVE seen it. The Trio, they call them, Harry, Ron and Hermione, were said in some reviews, to have outdone themselves in this one. They look so out of place not being in Hogwarts going to school and fighting with Draco, it's seems so weird for them not to be at school....

Will post my reactions to the actors and the movie when I see it. I, so can't wait!!!

See you later.

NYC trip

My 3 sisters, Betsy, Jeanne and Rona and I went to NYC to see the Yankees play on Sept. 25-26. We had a blast! Went to see the New Yankee Stadium. It is HUGE!!! I saw it being built when I went to see the Yankees play in 2009, and we had a good view of it from the seat at the (old)Stadium. We didn't win the game, but it was fun. See attached pictures.

On Sunday, we took a boat ride around the whole of the city and saw the lovely Lady in the harbor. My sister Rona had never been to NY before so we were trying to give her an idea of what it was like, and I think we failed miserably. You have to SEE it to feel it. I think she was alittle overwhelmed by the immensidy of the place. We really didn't see much as we stayed basically on 42nd street from 6th ave to the dock for the boat ride. We did go to this great Barbacue place called David's and then went to Madame Tousauds which was right across the street. Saw a lot of people I like there. That is the best likeness I've seen of Princess Diana ever.. I miss her.
Well, until next baseball season.

baseball season

Well, the New York Yankees lost in the ALCS this year 4-2 and the season is over. They played their hearts out this year, but didn't quite seem to have the same thing going on as last year when they won the World Series. Well, I have 5 months til Spring Training to get my dose of baseball again. In the meantime, I have my football teams, NY Giants and The SU Orangemen to root for the rest of the year. Then the SU Basketball team starts playing in early November.

Ah, winter sports to stay inside for and watch on tv. GO SU!

Hello, welcome to Summer 2010!!!! It has been so hot up here in Syracuse, NY that it's getting ridiculous. We have been in the high 80s to low 90s for the last 2-3 weeks and hit a high of 97 last Thursday.

My updates on Kevin Sorbo's movies is this- he is starring in a movie called"Ancient Empire" which should be released on the 15th of July as a dvd at the same time as OnDemand. Can't wait to receive my copy as I pre-ordered it back in March for a May release, except the Producer, Albert Pyun wasn't happy with the final product so he twitched it to make it better, so it wll out later than originally thought. Also, a movie called, What If, is going to be released in the theater in early August. It's like a "Wonderful Life" movie.

My favorite team, the Yankees are in 1st place leading into the All-Star break. We have 6 players in it this year. It seems like that many go each year. What an All-Star game without Yankees in it? Nothing more than an exhibition game! The American League is going for it's 15th straight win!!

Well, see ya soon...

zoo

On May 16th my 3 sisters and I with my nephew, Rob, we went to the renowned Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse, NY. We had such a good time, we need to do it more often. The exhibits were great. We have 4 tigers, but they decided to not be where we could see them, they got distracted and left their enclosure. But, we did hear them ROAR! It was so cool to hear them. We had a rogue, wild mandrake duck there. He isn't a part of the duck exhibit, we were told. I'm going to post some pictures of the flamingoes and penquins, and the black spectackaled bear.

Hello, haven't been here in awhile, so here we go.

The Yankees are off to a great start. Right now they are 11-4 and in 1st place in the AL east. Playing the Anaheim Angels tonight. SU is ranked no. 1 again, after they won 2 games on the road in the last 2 weeks. Not very many games left before the playoffs start and the Final Four is on Memorial Day weekend. Which by the way I have a 5-day weekend that weekend. WHEE!!!!

I start a new job on June 14th. It is in the same dept I work in now, just a different kettle of fish altogether! My dept. is going digital and all of the paper medical record will be no more. I will be a scanner and checker of the final part of the process that stores the record on the computer. Training starts in the next couple of weeks. I'm a little scared of something new, but excited, too, of the prospect of learning something totally different. I really can't wait.

Well, that's it for now. See ya later....

Well, we did not do very well in our game on Thursday against Butler. We got behind early, and actually had the lead for a few minutes, then lost it in the last 2 minutes of the game. Well, needless to say, the people at work were alittle down and kind of blue on Friday.

We had a great year, anyhow. We went from unranked to NO. 1 in the last week of the season. Coach Boeheim got his 800th win and we now have the record for a college campus crowd, 34.616. I don't think anyone will break that!! Unless, it's us of course!

Now, it's on to baseball(this coming weekend), and SU lacrosse. Who won in OT against Hobart and beat Johns Hopkins, both on the road...

I will always have my sports to fall back on.

Just to let you know what's going on in the world of SU basketball. We lost in the first round of the Big East tourney, after we won the regular season. But, we are doing very well in the NCAA tournament, with us winning the first 2 games of the opening weekend. We won rather handidly, and are now in the Sweet 16. Another NY school, Cornell made to the Sweet 16 also. They are playing very well, and are in the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY in the Eastern regional. SU is in the West regional out in Salt Lake City, UT. We both play Thursday, and both should be good games.

Well, spring has finally sprung here, as we have been having rain and 40s, so I guess it's here. But, it can change really fast around here. We still might get snow somewhere along the way.

SU rated no. 1

SU is rated no. 1!!! OMG, that game on Saturday vs Villanova was one of the greatest games ever. 34,616 fans in the Carrier Dome for that game. From start to finish, great action and great passing. The 3 teams ahead of us all LOST, so it kind of made it easier on those who vote. Next game Tuesday against St. Johns at the Dome. Then one more on the road Saturday at Louisville. Big East Tourney in Madison Square Garden next week. I am on vacation for that...

We are officially at 106 inches of snow for the season. I knew we would break the 100 inches mark. It was just a matter of time. I think the golden snowball is still ours!

See ya soon. Gina

Hello, and welcome. This is just an update on the SU basketball team. They are 26-2! They are getting set to take on the Villanova Wildcats tonight in the Carrier Dome at 9:00pm. ESPN is doing it's Gameday show from the Dome at 10:00 in the morning and again at 8:00 pm. They are saying it's a sellout at 34,616! It will be a crazy game! Will watch from the comfort of my own home.
This picture of the white tigers was just so cute and adorable that I just had to add to my blog! I love tigers, and white ones are so unique and beautiful!

We had our biggest snowfall so far this year over the last day. 14.6 inches in less that 24 hours. Brings the total to about 100 inches for the year. The schools had 2 snow days, the first time this year for most of the local schools.

They Yankees start playing spring training games this week on Wednesday. Can't wait for the season to start!!! I miss my baseball!! Lacrosse started last week and SU won their first game and are rated no. 1. So, my other sports are doing well, too. The Olympics are winding down this weekend. They USA hockey team is going for the gold against Canada. They women lost yesterday to them. Hopefully, the men will fair better. GO USA!!!

The last time I posted, my computer was not running properly, and it shut itself down. Well, I waited 1 month and went and bought a new computer (cpu) and am now up and running again. I was using safe mode for the last 6 months, and that was not good. No security and not a whole lot of stuff I could do. Now, the thing is that I have to remember all my logons and passwords for the sites I used to have on the old computer to the new one. I have remembered most of them. I am trimming my favorites down and will keep them under control. Since I was here last, in Dec., the SU basketball team is doing quite well. They are ranked no. 2 in one poll and 3 in the other. We are 22-1! We play UConn at home tomorrow in the Carrier Dome. GO SU!!!!
